CLASS DETAILS Course Type: Private American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Course Hosted For: Foothill College Paramedic Program Class Name: PALS HeartCode Dates & Times: Day 1: April 28, 2026 — 0800 to 1650 Day 2: April 29, 2026 — 0800 to 1650 Attendance Requirement: Participants must be present for both full days to receive an official AHA PALS Provider Certification. Location: Foothill College Sunnyvale Campus WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS Printed PALS HeartCode Certificate showing successful completion of the online video lessons and PALS exam. Note: The American Heart Association will not issue completion cards without proof of successful online course completion. HOW TO COMPLETE THE HEARTCODE REQUIREMENT 1. Visit: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-pals 2. Register and pay the $173.00 fee for the AHA HeartCode PALS course. 3. Complete the online survey (required to unlock your certificate). 4. Print your completion certificate and bring it to class. COURSE DESCRIPTION The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course prepares healthcare professionals to recognize and manage critically ill infants and children experiencing respiratory failure, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. This course emphasizes early recognition, high-quality resuscitation, and effective team dynamics using current American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. The course focuses on: - Systematic pediatric assessment and early intervention - High-quality CPR and effective airway management - Recognition and treatment of pediatric respiratory and cardiac emergencies - PALS pharmacology and age-appropriate medication dosing - Communication, leadership, and teamwork during pediatric resuscitation Students will participate in hands-on skills stations, case-based scenarios, and team-based megacode testing, all designed to reinforce real-world clinical decision-making. Certification Upon successful completion of all required components, students will receive an AHA PALS Provider eCard, typically issued within 1–2 business days. Continuing Education (CE) Credits: If you wish to receive CE credits, print them directly from the AHA site after completing the HeartCode coursework.
