Service Description

This two-day Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider course is an in-person program designed for healthcare professionals who respond to and manage respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies in infants and children. The course is taught in accordance with current American Heart Association guidelines and integrates evidence-based instruction with hands-on skills practice and realistic pediatric simulation scenarios. COURSE SCHEDULE Dates: June 6th & June 7th Time: 0900–1700 each day Location: Medics For Life 8022 San Miguel Canyon Road Prunedale, Ca 93907 REQUIRED PRE-COURSEWORK (Must Be Completed Prior to Class) All students are required to complete the AHA PALS Pre-Coursework and Self-Assessment before attending class. Proof of completion must be brought to class. The AHA PALS Pre-Coursework & Self-Assessment can be found at the following link: https://shopcpr.heart.org/pals-precourse-self-assessment COURSE CONTENT Participants will review and practice: - Systematic pediatric assessment and early recognition of respiratory distress, respiratory failure, and shock - Recognition and management of pediatric cardiac arrest and peri-arrest conditions - PALS treatment algorithms for bradycardia, tachycardia, shock, and cardiac arrest - Pediatric airway management, oxygenation, and ventilation strategies - IV/IO access and pediatric resuscitation pharmacology - High-performance team dynamics, communication, and crew resource management - Pediatric rhythm interpretation and clinical decision-making - Hands-on simulation scenarios and team-based resuscitation exercises COURSE FORMAT Day 1: Core PALS concepts, assessment pathways, algorithms, pharmacology, and skills practice Day 2: Advanced pediatric scenarios, team simulations, and written and skills assessments Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a 2-year AHA PALS Provider eCard.
