Service Description

INITIAL PALS CERTIFICATION If this is your initial PALS certification, you must complete the AHA HeartCode® PALS online course prior to attending the in-person skills session. - AHA HeartCode® PALS (Online): $173 - Completed directly through the American Heart Association - Proof of completion is required before attending class AHA HeartCode® PALS link: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-pals Failure to complete the HeartCode® PALS online portion before class will result in ineligibility to participate in the skills session. PALS RENEWAL CERTIFICATION If this is a PALS renewal, students are required to complete the AHA pre-coursework and self-assessment (no additional cost) prior to attending class. - AHA PALS Precourse Self-Assessment (Required): https://elearning.heart.org/course/1552 Students should arrive prepared and familiar with pediatric assessment, PALS algorithms, medication dosing, rhythm recognition, and team-based resuscitation principles. COURSE DESCRIPTION The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course prepares healthcare professionals to recognize and manage critically ill infants and children experiencing respiratory failure, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. This course emphasizes early recognition, high-quality resuscitation, and effective team dynamics using current American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. The course focuses on: - Systematic pediatric assessment and early intervention - High-quality CPR and effective airway management - Recognition and treatment of pediatric respiratory and cardiac emergencies - PALS pharmacology and age-appropriate medication dosing - Communication, leadership, and teamwork during pediatric resuscitation Students will participate in hands-on skills stations, case-based scenarios, and team-based megacode testing, all designed to reinforce real-world clinical decision-making. Certification Upon successful completion of all required components, students will receive an AHA PALS Provider eCard, typically issued within 1–2 business days.
